The Mint Hill Robotics competition team.
A team for 4th through 8th graders who want to compete, whether or not they've taken the class. Weekly meetings from March 2027, building and coding for LEGO® League, LEGO® Education's new robotics competition.
A new competition, built on the kits we already use.
LEGO League is LEGO Education's own robotics competition, launching for the 2027–28 season. It follows FIRST® LEGO® League, which runs its final season in 2026–27 as the partnership between FIRST and LEGO Education ends. LEGO Education has said the new program keeps what students love about the old one, hands-on building, teamwork, and robots, and adds challenges drawn from its Computer Science & AI curriculum. Read LEGO Education's announcement.
Our team will train from March so it is ready when the first season opens.
Grades 4–8, ready to commit to a season.
No class or workshop is required to join. Both are good preparation, but the team starts from wherever your kid is. The team meets weekly starting March 2027, with the same two instructors as the class. Competition seasons involve a research project, a robot game, and judged presentations, so expect more homework than the class and a lot more ownership. Exact meeting times, season dates, and cost depend on what LEGO Education publishes.
Weekly hours and the season calendar will be posted here as soon as LEGO Education publishes the 2027–28 schedule.
